A nod to the show stopping, highly veined, highly prized Italian marble featured in architecture and fine product design.

To match this grand personality is an intense, exotic scent with sharp notes of bitter rinds and ginger, rounded off with saffron and patchouli. Paprika has been infused to rejuvenate and even skin and color naturally. Moroccan Red clay is not only beautiful to look at, it’s highly prized as one of the purest cosmetic clays to nourish skin. Charcoal and clay work in harmony to turn over dead cells and lightly exfoliate.
This bar has been formulated to match its solid, marble aesthetic as a hard, long lasting soap that will go the distance. Invigorating as a bath bar but perfect next to the kitchen sink to lift your mood through kitchen drudgeries.

Formulation

As with all mineral bars from clays to charcoal it is normal to see the color leave your bar through use. All our products are formulated city and septic water safe. Unlike commercial bars that leave a soapy film, this is a nice clean trace and makes a nice path to the drain.

Using warm water, work the soap into a lather using hands or washcloth. Gentle enough to use everyday. For long lasting bars, leave in a dry place between use.

We source our cocoa butter from fair trade coalitions that harvest sustainably with healthy soil practices. Cocoa trees are becoming increasingly stressed by climate change and have been linked with unfair and harsh child labor practices. The tree is difficult to cultivate and process which makes the butter extremely valuable.

We source our palm oil from RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) Certified palm. This strong and ever-growing alliance was established to preserve all threats to habitats and the support local communities. Farmers are paid fairly and can focus on using healthy soil practices, and avoid illegal hunting and developing into natural ecosystems. By supporting this RSPO palm we are actively supporting this cause rather than boycotting palm altogether.

Mango butter is high in lauric acid, more moisturizing than coconut oil and is high in vitamin E. It is a by-product of the fruit processing and it is most often cold pressed which requires no chemical extraction and far less energy.

While soap is self-preserving, it is a natural product and subject to spoiling over a long period. Oils and butters oxidize at different speeds which makes estimating shelf life difficult. Ideally, soap should be stored in a dry, cool and dark place and used within 1-2 years. Over time, soap may exhibit “dreaded orange spots” (DOS) which is still safe to use only if your soap has not changed in its characteristics either becoming sticky or starting to smell rancid (a crayon-like smell). If so, please discard.
